A BIRD FEEDING STATION at the edge of the woodlands,
visible from the Nature Center, attracts a wide variety of birds, including the
Downy, Hairy and Red-bellied Woodpeckers and an over-wintering pair of Pine
Warblers.
GUIDED WALKS: a naturalist will be available to
give guided walks, Noon and 4 PM Saturday and Sunday throughout the year.
This program is funded by the N.Y.S. Natural Heritage Trust and Friends of Blue
Heron Park.

HOW TO GET THERE: By S.I. Rapid
Transit: Exit at Annadale Station. Walk uphill on Annadale Road to Poillon
Avenue. Follow Poillon a half mile to the park entrance. By Bus:
Take S78 or S59 to Poillon Avenue. Walk north 0.5 mi. to entrance.
By Car: Take the West Shore Expressway or the Korean War Vetrans
Memorial (Richmond) Parkway and exit at Arden Avenue. Drive Arden Avenue south
to Hylan Blvd., turn right and travel 0.6 mile to Poillon Avenue. Turn right,
go half mile to park entrance. Or using Hylan Blvd., Poillon Avenue is 1.1
miles past Richmond Avenue when traveling toward Tottenville.
Blue Heron Park program schedules are available
free at the Nature Center and are mailed to members of Friends of
Blue Heron Park, whose membership donations help support program services.
